World Sexual Health Day 2025:
Sexual Justice: What Can We Do?

World Sexual Health Day is celebrated annually on September 4 to raise awareness about the importance of sexual health, rights, justice, and pleasure for ALL. The theme for 2025 is Sexual Justice: What Can We Do?

This year, WSHD has four focus areas under the main theme of sexual justice.

The first is Sexual Rights. The core message for this focus area is that sexual justice is essential for the achievement of sexual health, rights, and pleasure for all people without discrimination, fear, shame, and stigma.

The second is Sexual and Reproductive Rights. The core message for this focus area is that sexual justice means protecting and promoting the right to bodily autonomy and reproductive choice for everyone and everywhere.

The third is LGBTQ+ Adolescents: Transgender, Gender-Diverse, Gay & Lesbian Youth. The core message for this focus area is that sexual justice means affirming and defending the rights, dignity, needs, and identities of all LGBTQ+ people, especially trans, non-binary, gay, and lesbian adolescents.

The fourth is Access to Information. The core message for this focus area is that sexual justice means ensuring access to accurate, uncensored, evidence-based information about sexuality and health.

Sexual justice:
It is not optional. 🙅
It should NOT be political. 🙅
It’s the foundation of health, dignity, and equality. #WSHD2025 #SexualJustice

Sexual Justice means building a world where everyone can experience sexual health, rights, and pleasure, free from discrimination, violence, or barriers. 🌍#WSHD2025 #SexualJustice

🗣️ Birth control is health care.
🗣️ Access to abortion care is health care.
🫵 You deserve access to both, no matter who you are or where you live.
#WSHD2025 #AbortionIsHealthcare #SexualJustice

Abortion bans, barriers to contraception, funding restrictions, and stigma threaten women and girls’ sexual and reproductive autonomy. When people can’t make decisions about their own bodies, there is no justice. #WSHD2025 #SexualJustice #ReproRights

Restricting or trying to ban sex education doesn’t lessen young people’s curiosity; it only makes them more susceptible to false information online about intimacy, relationships, and their bodies. #WSHD2025 #SexualJustice #SexEdMatters

Access to accurate and factual information on sexuality and health is vital for sexual justice. Book bans and the removal of evidence-based material from schools and social media hinder informed decision-making. Access to truth is access to justice. #WSHD2025 #SexualJustice
