SUMMARY:Sexual Health in OBGYN Care
DESCRIPTION:The lecture reviews eight of the most frequently encountered OBGYN presentations with a documented sexual-health dimension: infertility\, pregnancy\, postpartum\, polycystic ovary syndrome\, menopause\, genital infections\, endometriosis/chronic pelvic pain\, and urinary incontinence/pelvic floor dysfunction. \nFor each\, the corresponding DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 diagnostic classification is presented alongside condition-specific prevalence data\, red-flag indicators warranting referral to a sex therapist\, and a synthesis of the evidence supporting psychosexual intervention (including cognitive-behavioral sex therapy\, exposure-based treatment\, and mindfulness-based approaches). \nThe session aims to equip OBGYN physicians with a practical\, evidence-based screening habit — enabling early identification of sexual dysfunction\, appropriate first-line management\, and timely referral — while clarifying the scope of psychosexual therapy as a complementary resource within the department’s care pathway.

SUMMARY:Every body: What voices\, bodies\, and contexts are missing from the conversation about sexual health? (Every body: Que vozes\, corpos e contextos estão em falta no diálogo sobre saúde sexual?)
DESCRIPTION:On September 4th\, 2026 — Portugal’s National Sexual Health Day — the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology (SPSC) will host an online event titled Every Body: What voices\, bodies and contexts are missing from the conversation about sexual health? \nInspired by the World Sexual Health Day 2026 theme\, Every Body\, this event is built on a simple but powerful premise: sexual health\, rights\, justice and pleasure belong to every person\, in every body\, without exception. And yet\, there are communities whose experiences\, needs and knowledge remain largely absent from sexual health education\, clinical practice and academic discourse in Portugal. \nThe event brings together voices from communities that are rarely heard in this context\, not to speak about them\, but to learn with them. Each guest will share their community’s perspective around three guiding questions: What is missing in sexual health education about my community? What are the greatest sexual health challenges faced by my community? And how can spaces for conversations about sexual health\, including clinical consultations\, sexual education and academia\, become more inclusive and adapted? \nThe session will open with Marta Crawford and Patrícia Pascoal\, who will set the stage for the conversation\, with Patrícia Pascoal also moderating the panel. Guests include a clinical psychologist and decolonial activist working with LGBTQIA+ and racialised communities\, a digital educator and creator focused on LGBTQIA+ rights\, a psychologist and anticapacitist activist representing people with disabilities\, the Technical Director of Anémona\, an association supporting trans\, non-binary and queer people\, and a gynaecologist and sexologist specialising in female sexuality and menopause. \nThis event is aimed at sexual health professionals\, educators\, researchers and the general public. No registration is required. We hope attendees leave with a deeper understanding of the gaps that still exist in sexual health discourse\, and with concrete insights on how their own practice\, teaching or advocacy can become more responsive to the communities that are too often left out of the conversation. \nThe event will be streamed live on September 4th at 5pm on the SPSC YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuwezXIjg4-79n6mQ00Gzcg

SUMMARY:Wellness Day: Every Body\, One Story
DESCRIPTION:We are planning a comprehensive\, multi-generational event titled “Wellness Day: Every Body\, One Story\,” held within the framework of the global WSHD 2026 “Every Body” campaign. \nOur event is designed to bring the campaign’s theme to life by reaching diverse groups within our community: secondary school students (12–16 years old)\, older adults\, and the broader university population. This approach ensures that voices and bodies often left out of the conversation on sexual health are centered. \nThe activities we have planned are: \n  \n\nAn Experiential Workshop (“My Body\, My Story”): A 3-hour\, interactive workshop for students to explore the relationship between their bodies\, sexual health\, and well-being through guided conversation and collective art (creating a mural).\nPip-Pon Express (“My Body\, My Voice”): A dynamic video booth where students can participate in short\, anonymous micro-interviews\, sharing their personal perspectives on what their body and sexual health mean to them. This creates an original audiovisual product to be shared online with the #WSHD2026 and #EveryBody hashtags.\nA Conversation Circle (“Let’s Talk About Our Body\, Let’s Talk About Our Life”): A safe\, respectful dialogue space for older adults to discuss sexuality\, affection\, and health in later life\, directly addressing the taboos and myths surrounding aging bodies.\n\nWhat we hope people will take away: \n  \n\nKnowledge and Awareness: Participants will gain access to updated\, accurate\, and reliable information on sexual health\, promoting a stigma-free vision of the body\, affection\, and relationships at every stage of life.\nA Sense of Connection: Through intergenerational dialogue and a focus on the “Every Body” theme\, we aim to build a more inclusive community where participants see their own experiences and bodies reflected and valued.\nEmpowerment and Practical Tools: By attending workshops and conversation circles\, people will leave with practical tools for self-care and personal commitments to their well-being.\nA Shift in Perspective: A fundamental goal is to contribute to a world where sexual health and well-being are recognized as belonging to every person\, in every body\, without exception.

SUMMARY:Love Takes Practice: Every Body Deserves a Healthy and Fulfilling Relationship

Through interactive activities\, games\, and a couples’ sharing session\, we invited couples and members of the public to explore communication\, intimacy\, sexual health\, and healthy relationships in an approachable way. We hoped participants would see that healthy and fulfilling relationships are not something we simply “have”\, but something we can learn\, practice\, and build together. SUMMARY:Pleasure Matters
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to invite you to a dynamic and engaging webinar co-hosted by Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters (SRHM)\, The Pleasure Project and the Agents of Ishq\, in commemoration of World Sexual Health Day. \nThis is a uniquely significant occasion: we’re launching The Pleasure Project and Agents of Ishq’s editorial and the first Special Collection of the SRHM Journal on sexual pleasure. With over 30 years of advocacy and research combined\, we’re bringing you a wealth of knowledge and excitement. \nWhy Attend? \n\nInsightful Discussions: Hear from feminist researchers\, pleasure activists\, and the brilliant authors behind the collection.\nInnovative Approaches: Break away from the traditional view of sexual life as mostly risky\, fraught with disease\, shame\, and constant threats and embrace a radical understanding of pleasure as political.\nGlobal Expertise: Learn about pleasure from a global perspective through local\, lived experiences.\n\nWho are we? \n\nAgents of Ishq (AOI) is a pathbreaking multimedia comprehensive sexuality education project enabling conversations about about sex\, love and desire for young Indians in English and Hindi\, across online and offline spaces. Using a feminist\, arts-based approach\, AOI shifts conversations about sex and sexual life from culturally polarised\, negative and shame-fostering to pleasure-positive\, honest\, rooted and inclusive.\nThe Pleasure Project builds bridges between the public health world and the pleasure and sex industry\, and helps to develop the evidence base for a sex-positive and pleasure-based approach to sexual health and rights. The Pleasure Project has been putting the sexy into safer sex for twenty years and are the leading global voice advocating for pleasure based sexual health.\nSexual and Reproductive Health Matters is the only global organisation linked to a scientific\, highly reputed journal in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) that provides an independent voice\, has a long-time\, trusted reputation\, and offers space to a truly global network of researchers\, policy makers\, programme managers\, lawyers and activists in the field of SRH.\n\nWe believe that rights- and evidence-based knowledge is power.
